| Lot description: THRACE. Bizya. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 23 mm, 7.05 g, 7 h), time of Hadrian, 117-138. ΔΙΟΝΥСω ΚΤΙСΤΗ Dionysos seated right, holding bunch of grapes in his right hand and a grape (?) in his left; behind him, vine. Rev. ΒΙΖΥΗΝΩΝ The city-goddess standing left, holding uncertain object in her right hand; at her feet to left, river-god reclining right. RPC III 736. Rare and unusually attractive. Good very fine.
